Cenzella is full of joy. She loves to sing, draw colorful pictures, dance, and skip rope with her friends. Her smile lights up every room — even though her young life has already been marked by tremendous loss.
A story of courage
Cenzella's life changed before she could even know her mother's love. Only two days after she was born, her mother passed away. Her aunt welcomed Cenzella into her home and lovingly raised her alongside her own children, even though the family already struggled to make ends meet.
Hope in the midst of hardship
Cenzella's aunt has no steady job, and the family depends on whatever work her husband can find each day. Some days there is enough. Some days there isn't. Food, clothing, school supplies and medical care are daily challenges — but Cenzella continues to walk to school with hope in her heart.
She still dreams
Cenzella believes education can change her future. One day she wants to help children and families who are suffering, just as she has experienced hardship herself. Her compassion is already growing into purpose.
